From time to time, Project RT poses a question about life, memory, relationships, identity, belief, choices and change. Anyone can respond. No writing experience is needed. What matters is having something genuine to say.
Take the question wherever it naturally leads. The experience does not need to be dramatic, painful or extraordinary. What matters is the perspective behind it and what changed between then and now.
150–600 words
Responses are not judged on grammar, literary technique, vocabulary or polished prose. There is no advantage in making an experience sound more sophisticated than it naturally is.
Honesty — something genuine rather than something written to impress
Reflection — an understanding of how perspective changed
Insight — something that gives another person reason to think
Connection — a response that genuinely engages with the question
Impact — something that stays with the reader afterwards
The strongest response does not have to describe the most painful or extraordinary experience.
Some responses may be selected to appear on ProjectRT.com as part of Perspectives.
Nothing is published without permission, and contributors can choose how they are credited, including anonymously.
Each question can add another set of experiences, thoughts and viewpoints to a growing collection of human perspectives.
If that collection becomes large enough, selected contributions could one day take another form, perhaps even a published collection bringing together voices from different people, places and experiences.
Nothing is promised, and no contribution would ever be used in another publication without separate permission. For now, it begins with one question and one perspective at a time.
No. Perspectives is about what is being expressed, not how professionally it is written.
The purpose of Perspectives is to hear your voice. Spelling or grammar does not affect selection, so there is no need to make a response sound more polished or literary than it naturally is. The more naturally it sounds like you, the better.
Not automatically. Selected contributors will be contacted first and nothing will be published without permission.
Contributors selected for publication may choose to use their name, Instagram handle or remain anonymous.
Some questions or campaigns may include a featured response, book giveaway or another form of recognition. Any specific reward, eligibility requirement or closing date will be stated with that question.
Responses are considered for honesty, reflection, insight, connection to the question and overall impact. Writing ability is not part of the assessment.
Yes. Writing ability is not part of the selection criteria, and perfect English is not expected. Responses should, however, be submitted in English so they can be read and considered consistently.
Your response will be read and considered for Perspectives. Selected contributors may be contacted about featuring their response on ProjectRT.net. Submission does not automatically mean publication, and nothing will be published without separate permission.
Yes. New Perspectives questions are intended to appear periodically.
No. Perspectives is open to all ages. If a contributor under 18 is selected for publication or recognition, permission from a parent or legal guardian may be required before anything is published or awarded.
